About us

aboutus_pageTrefochlyd is a small lowland farm which has been a family run farm for generations. More than ten years ago the decision was made to sell the dairy herd. We spent the next couple of years building up a commercial suckler herd consisting of many different breeds of cows including Belgian blues cross, Limousin cross, charolais cross and many Hereford cross.

When it was time to purchase pedigree cattle the decision to go for Hereford cattle was easy. We had found the commercial Hereford cows to be easy to manage, easy to calve, very docile and very good mothers.

The first cow and heifer came from the local Glenvale herd of George and Ionwy Thorn. We travelled a little further to purchase heifers from the Dendor herd. Further cattle have come from as far as Scotland purchased at the Hereford Cattle Society Spring and Autumn Show and sales.
